How to invite a patient to TouchCare

Invite a patient to TouchCare so they are prompted to register, download TouchCare and begin participating in video calls with your providers.

Patients tab > Invite Patient

The Invite Patient screen has two options: Quick Invite and Complete Invite.

Quick Invite

  • Fastest option for the administrator: only the patient's email address is required.
  • The patient is invited to register for and download TouchCare.

Complete Invite

  • Speeds patient onboarding since the patient's personal and contact information is added during invitation creation.

Upon submitting the form, the patient is sent an email inviting them to use TouchCare - see below for examples. After accepting the invitation, the patient appears on your patient list and you can schedule appointments with them.

How to send a quick invite

In the "Quick Invite" tab, complete the fields:

  1. Patient Email: Enter the patient's personal email address
  2. On Behalf Of: Optional. Type the first few letters of the name of the patient's provider to send the invitation on their behalf. As you type, providers' names will appear. Click to select the correct provider's name. After the patient registers, downloads TouchCare and logs in, they are invited to accept a connection request from that provider. If a name is not entered into "On Behalf Of", the invitation comes from the practice.
  3. Message: Optional. Leave the default message or type a new one
  4. Click "Invite"

The "accept invitation" email  is sent to the patient.

The Tab key moves to the next field or button. The Enter key selects the field or button that is highlighted.

How to send a complete invite

In the "Complete Invite" tab, complete the fields:

  1. Patient Email: Patient's personal email address
  2. On Behalf Of: Optional. Type the first few letters of the name of the patient's provider to send the invitation on their behalf. As you type, providers' names will appear. Click to select the correct provider's name. After the patient registers, downloads TouchCare and logs in, they are invited to accept a connection request from that provider.
  3. Message: Leave the default message or type a new one
  4. First Name: Patient's first name
  5. Last Name: Patient's last name
  6. Gender: Patient's specified gender
  7. Birth Date: Patient's birth date in numerical Month/Day/Year order. For months prior to October enter a 0 prior to the month number. (ex. for January enter "01"). No need to enter the backslash; the date will automatically format.
  8. Street 1, Street 2, City, State, Zip Code: Patient's home address
  9. Phone: Patient's preferred phone number
  10. Click "Invite"

The "download the app" email  is sent to the patient.
